What is needed to live in non-hierarchical relationships that can truly honour our human differences? Can we re-imagine a new set of social relationships grounded in decoloniality, anti-racism, and feminism today for a better tomorrow? Through dialogue we will draw upon the knowledges, work, and experiences of Joyce Green, Professor Emerita with the Department of Politics and International Studies at the University of Regina; Gina Starblanket, Associate Professor in Indigenous Governance at the University of Victoria; Rinaldo Walcott, Professor and Chair in the Department of Africana and American Studies at the University of Buffalo; and Christina Sharpe, Professor and Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Black Studies in the Humanities at York University. For this Big Thinking lecture, join this interdisciplinary panel of scholars in conversation as they imagine together how to enact the terms under which we might create a radically different world. This event will take place in English, with Simultaneous Interpretation in French, Closed Captioning, and ASL services available.
